Anxiety is one of the main factors when moving home.

As moving home is such a big endeavour, many people become stressed. You could be one of the charmed ones who handle anxiety with a smile. A normally lively cheerful person can get tense, so it’s nothing to do with your temperament.

Clear steps to help make the move less stressful:

1. Take Advantage of Moving Supplies when having to move endless of items, it is not such a bad idea to invest in few inexpensive moving supplies that can help manage your move more easily. In advance of your property move, buy or borrow boxes, paper, bubble wrap, old blankets and anything else you can think of to help with packing.

2. Begin packing straight away, there’s lots of things to do without packing in one day. Packing the night before the move is definitely not a brilliant idea. You should always have your personal items packed one day before the moving day to make sure you have the last day to pack up all the belongings you forgot about. Items such as kitchen gadgets, DVD’s and other less used items should be packed first, after all you’re unlikely to need them until you move to your new home. The more belongings you pack in advance, the less you have to worry about.

3. Moving house is a good way to have a clear out of all those belongings that never get used. Throw away all those items that haven’t made use of since the day you moved in, the items you thought you may need but never did. You can either throw these items away or simply give them to someone.

4. A list – make sure you type up a a list and stick it somewhere prominent, lists are very valuable. Make a list for everything, list of things you need to buy, list of items that you do not need or want to give away before the move, list of expensive items that need to be handled with care at all times and finally a list of every object you’re moving. Lists are a powerful anxiety helper on moving day.

Things you need to think about for the day you move home.

You are possibly going to need assistance to load your car or truck and off load it at your new property, so rally friends and family for this job. By having all this assistance, the job of moving home will be a lot faster and quicker. For those that are pleased to help, laying on sandwiches and drinks goes a long way to saying thank you. Keeping helpers relaxed and well fed, means they will be happier and more willing to put in that extra time. If you have children then you need to think about what is going to happen with them on moving day. Find out if you can get someone to take your young ones away for the day so they are not in the way. To stop your children getting tense, let them watch their rooms being packed, that way they know you are not throwing away their favourite toys. The same goes for your animals, try and locate a friend who will take care of it on the moving day. When transferring pets, take care to avoid the animal from getting sick in the car. Also, pack your pet’s belongings separately so it can be unpacked right away at your new home. When you are making the journey make sure your pet is never left unattended. Just like children, pets need to be kept close, so make sure you have a tether handy if you have to take a break.

Make sure you look for a fair Truck Rental Firm for Moving

Often, your vehicle will not be big enough to move all of your belongings to your new home and you’ll probably have to rent a truck. The experience of renting a large vehicle will depend on you. When hiring a van make sure you take note of the next couple of pointers:

1. The starting step when getting a rental van is determining the size you need. Make sure you give yourself a margin of approximately 15% more room than you think you need. This extra area makes sure you have enough space and are not left with belongings that don’t fit in. If you don’t have enough room then your anxiety levels are going to be great while you scrabble around trying to find extra vehicles.

2. Don’t be mislead into thinking all costs are the same, with so many businesses out there you would think they would be, wouldn’t you? However, you will find, that isn’t the case. Look on the internet for the best costings, make a few phone calls and compare prices from different companies

3. Leasing a moving van is very similar to hiring a car. Book your van ahead of time so you don’t get stuck with one that doesn’t suit your demands. By planning ahead your van will be ready and available for you on moving day.

4. Another item to think about is insurance, it is a good idea to buy your own insurance. There is many differences between driving a large vehicle and driving a small car. If you haven’t bought insurance, one miscalculation can cost you a lot of money. By spending a little time ferreting for a large van insurance policy ensures that you have a less stressful move.

5. How long do you need it for? – Make sure you hire the truck for a period of time thats lets you complete everything without having to rush. A van that is due back and you haven’t finished is going to increase your stress and cost you dollars. Late returns can turn out to be very costly as hire companies charge large fees for this.

The correct way to move your car.

If you are one of the lucky people fortunate to have a second vehicle, then you need to look at how you are going to transport it. If you can’t find someone to drive it for you then think about the alternatives – shipping, towing or transporting it on a trailer. Another alternative worth thinking about is disposing of it, storing it or giving it to a relative. Before you decide to tow your vehicle, read the manual to prevent any unnecessary accidents from happening and make sure your main vehicle is capable of towing a secondary vehicle with ease. Boats, trailers, motor scooters, four wheelers, etc. may need specialist provisions to be towed. Don’t believe you know how to correctly tow this vehicle, ring a dealer who sells these items or look on the internet for the correct and safest way to transport them.
