People generally believe that the best employment opportunities are confined in their country’s major cities. It seems to be a collective notion that applies to everyone around the world. The residents of the United Kingdom are of no exception and are also inclined to think the same way. Many individuals leave their hometowns in hopes of making their dreams come true in the more popular cities. It cannot be denied that London, Manchester and other key cities in the UK offer plenty of opportunities for everyone. However, the competition in these areas is tougher. In addition to that, cost of living is higher.
In the recent years, more and more people have started to acknowledge that there are also opportunities in the peripheral cities of the UK. Sales jobs alone are steadily increasing. Businesses, regardless of their size, all need sales and marketing teams. Reports on various educational institutions also said that the enrollees in Sales and Marketing courses are growing in number every year. Because of this, cities all over the UK are creating more and more jobs for them.
An example of a UK peripheral city that enjoys a fairly stable economy is Brighton. It is actually a country borough in the south coast of England. Together with Hove, they form the region’s most populous seaside city. In 2008, the South East Development Agency said that the economy in Brighton and its surrounding cities is advanced, high income, broad based and service oriented. There are plenty of Brighton sales jobs in different sectors that people can apply for. Applicants in Brighton, whether new graduates or long time professionals, have so many opportunities right in front of them. The most recent survey says that the most advertised vacancies for sales jobs in Brighton are customer service, sales consultants, sales managers and sales representatives, to name a few.
Liverpool is another peripheral city of the UK that has a lot of jobs to offer. It is more than just the place where The Beatles originated from. However, it cannot be denied that this 1960’s band’s popularity contributed, if not caused, the surge of tourists in the city from the peak of their career to this day. Like Brighton, there are also lots of Liverpool sales jobs to apply for. Job opportunities are even expected to rise after the city was coined Europe’s Capital of Culture. This acknowledgement, according to economic analysts, will boost the city’s economy and make it more appealing for investors to do business in. Some of the sales jobs in Liverpool include retail sales, sales training, sales support, technical sales and business development.
As mentioned above, sales professionals are needed in every business. This is true regardless of the business size and demographics. Sales jobs, whether they are in the country’s major city or the peripheral area, provide a very promising future. With customer service skills, proper training, diligence and hard work, you might very well be on your way to fulfilling your dream to become a salesman extraordinaire.
